2022年3月，国际足联在官网公布了2022年卡塔尔世界杯的分组抽签细则。根据安排，本届世界杯32强的分组抽签仪式于北京时间4月2日凌晨在卡塔尔多哈进行。
之一档：卡塔尔、巴西、比利时、法国、阿根廷、英格兰、西班牙、葡萄牙
第二档：墨西哥、荷兰、丹麦、德国、乌拉圭、瑞士、美国、克罗地亚
第三档：塞内加尔、伊朗、日本、摩洛哥、塞尔维亚、波兰、韩国、突尼斯
第四档：喀麦隆、加拿大、厄瓜多尔、沙特、加纳、3支附加赛获胜球队
剩下的三个名额：
1、中北美及加勒比海足联的哥斯达黎加与大洋洲足联的新西兰争夺一个名额；
2、亚足联阿联酋VS澳大利亚将进行附加赛，胜者与南美足联秘鲁争夺一个名额；
3、欧足联的威尔士将与苏格兰VS乌克兰的胜者进行附加赛，决出一个名额。
2022年6月15日，随着哥斯达黎加队1比0击败新西兰队，世界杯32强全部确定，除东道主卡塔尔外，还有伊朗、沙特、突尼斯、摩洛哥4支中东球队打进了决赛阶段。
32支球队将在11月21日至12月3日踢完小组赛阶段全部48场比赛；其中，11月21日0点打响揭幕战，由东道主卡塔尔对阵厄瓜多尔。决赛将于12月18日进行。
北京时间8月22日消息，2016年里约奥运会闭幕式在马拉卡纳球场进行。在国际奥委会主席托马斯-巴赫宣布2016年奥运会闭幕后，雨水浇灭圣火。最后的里约大狂欢和绚丽焰火，为第31届夏季奥运会划上完美句号。
开场舞蹈表演期间，热情的巴西人相继摆出耶稣山、面包山、里约奥运会会徽和彩色奥运五环的标志。国际奥委会主席巴赫亲临现场；值得一提的是，巴西代总统开幕式时现身，闭幕式则没有前来。在这之后，现场演绎了巴西最动听的歌舞--《真情》，歌者带着他的3个女儿和1个孙女。紧接着的升旗仪式环节，由27个孩子演唱巴西国歌。
运动员入场，来自207个奥运参赛代表团的运动员在“赛会英雄”环节进入马拉卡纳球场，这是欢庆成就、友谊和打破文化藩篱的时刻。这个环节，巴西著名流行歌手罗贝塔-萨登台献唱，此时上个世纪30年代传奇歌后卡门-米兰达的影子在舞台上出现。希腊第1个入场，中国被排在第45个，闭幕式旗手是丁宁，她在本届奥运会夺取女单和女双2枚乒乓球金牌。美国的闭幕式旗手是在里约夺取4枚体操金牌的拜尔斯；李宗伟则是马来西亚闭幕式旗手。
现场雨势越来越大，但没有浇灭各国运动员的热情；中国女排的姑娘们进场时还玩起 *** 。运动员入场仪式结束后，精彩的文艺表演继续。224名舞者变换队形，展现当地土著居民留下的文化。
大屏幕开始播放本届奥运会17个比赛日的精彩瞬间，并在现场颁发男子马拉松奖牌。4位新晋奥运会委员与观众们见面，包括柳承敏和伊辛巴耶娃，他们向里约奥运会志愿者献花。
奥运会旗交接仪式，巴赫将五环旗帜交到东京市长小池百合子手上。在“东京八分钟”表演结束后，里约奥委会主席和国际奥委会主席分别致辞。巴赫总结道：“这是一届精彩的奥运会，这是一座精彩的城市。本届奥运会留下了独一无二的遗产，历史会看到奥运会之前的里约，和奥运会之后更好的里约！”
此时，巴赫宣布2016年奥运会正式闭幕。在这之后便是里约大狂欢，480名演员组成了一幅水粉画。一位巴西女歌手站在旋转着的火炬台下唱歌，在雨水浇注下，燃烧了两周的奥运圣火缓缓熄灭！舞台中央一颗大树升起，浇灭圣火的雨水没有被浪费。
一辆彩车开进现场，运动员们纷纷离开各自座位，加入到狂欢的海洋。马拉卡纳球场被绚丽的焰火围绕，标志着里约奥运会正式结束。
